How to recognise a charlatan?
We are often saddened and grow rebellious when we encounter people telling us about their previous experiences with so-called psychics/mediums, who have been confused or frightened by them, or maybe even worse... who have lost lots of money in the process. Stories about "psychics" asking large sums of money to repair relationships, for example, really make our hackles rise. Charlatans will always be present in all trades and professions, including ours, aiming to abuse personal vulnerabilities.
But how to recognise such charlatans?
The signals described below may be of value to you:
-
If someone says: "I can guarantee you 100% certainty of reuniting you with your boyfriend or girlfriend by means of rituals or using photographs" (so-called ‘relationship repair'), this should set off your alarms. The end of the story will always be the same: you lose a lot of money and your loved one has carried on with his or her life without you. The same applies to predictions on lottery numbers and rituals warranting financial success.
Psychics and/or mediums are ordinary people; not Saints capable of magically returning lost loved ones to your path or granting riches.
- Predictions about death, severe disease, and tragedy are ways used by charlatans to grab your attention (and your money), completely unrelated to gaining any kind of insight into your life. Unfortunately, we often hear predictions have been made such as: "I see a lethal tumour in your head" – a message made up right then and there, after which you are left to deal with it. The charlatan couldn't care less about whether you are left behind traumatised. What a wonderful thing to tell people... A true psychic will never hurt you unnecessarily.
-
If too many questions are asked.
There is nothing wrong with psychics asking questions during consultations. Something is wrong, however, if consultations start off with endless series of questions being asked, as this is a method of obtaining information from you, which will result in you answering all of your questions yourself. A clever charlatan will do so in such a way that you will hardly notice it happening. A true psychic, after having attained your level of energy, will gain a natural understanding of the themes dominating your life, and work from there to gain insights from you without actually asking questions.
If you happen to be flooded with questions, the best way to solve this is by asking questions yourself. This will cause charlatans to clam up (as he or she will be unable to receive any information from you), or yield vague and general answers providing no direction whatsoever.
-
Buying time.
Psychics will never extend the conversation beyond useful limits, and will never start to tell you about themselves either. Should this occur, then please don't hesitate to end the conversation, as you aren't paying money per minute to listen to someone else's story. Moreover, a psychic will never tell you: "Let me see/ feel/ hear/ sense what comes through about you", after which you hear nothing for minutes on end. You may imagine him or her in deep concentration, trying to receive the information you seek (you may hear some spiritual music in the background to gain your confidence), while in reality the "psychic" is merely washing the dishes, only to return to the conversation 5 minutes later. Honestly - these things do happen!
You may expect us to receive information for you within 10 to 20 seconds, which is approximately the time required to adjust to your energy level.
Try to take these matters into account when consulting someone.
You may sometimes experience an unpleasant conversation with a psychic, medium, or fortune teller. Please keep in mind that this is not necessarily due to him or her being a charlatan; it may also be due to you being blocked. It is always crucial to adopt an open attitude during consultations, since they are exchanges between you and the person consulting. Another reason may be a personal mismatch, as the two of you clicking is important as well. So always choose someone you feel good about to make sure you enjoy a good and reliable consultation.
